A Little iPhone Motivation

I love how a new piece of gear can reset my motivation meter. I hate that it takes something superficial, but I love that it works.  I also hate how much I love my iPhone. So this motivation experience was a bit of a double-edged sword.   I always run with my iPhone in my skirt pocket.  Not for the music, I hate running with music, besides, I need my ears open wide. I love that the MapMyRun app ticks away the miles and minutes through its GPS.  So during last Sunday’s run, when the app’s latest update caused a women’s voice to shout out my time and pace at the one mile mark, I nearly fell flat on my face. Even the dog startled and looked up at me.  Who was this woman shouting out of my skirt?   Neighbors were looking up at me from their yard work. I laughed and got back on pace, eager to hit mile two.  How awesome.   Can’t wait for the next run!
